Hamburger Ice Cream Treat

Anyone want to make these hamburger ice cream treats for my birthday today? ([])

  • 8 dessert sponge cups (strawberry shortcake cups)
  • 2 drops yellow food coloring
  • 3 black licorice twists, for grill marks
  • Red gel frosting, for ketchup
  • 2 large green gum drops, sliced, for pickles
  • Sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup marshmallow cream
  • 2 cups BLUE BUNNY® Premium Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream

  1. Trim upper edge of each dessert cup to make them level; set aside.
  2. Stir food coloring into marshmallow creme; set aside.
  3. Cut licorice in half lengthwise, then cut in half crosswise; set aside.
  4. Place 1/2 cup ice cream on each of 4 dessert cups, smoothing edges to look like hamburger patties. Press three pieces of licorice onto each ice cream hamburger patty for grill marks.
  5. Spread each with about 1 tablespoon marshmallow cream mustard and drizzle with gel frosting ketchup. Top with gum drop pickles.

The cool chefs (I’m assuming they are cool since it looks like they love burgers) at Delmonico Kitchen and Bar, way over in Guam, are about to start their own Burger 365 challenge. Starting this week, they will be serving a new burger creation every day for a year. They are even having  promotions such as the chance to win $1000 for trying all 365!

Bonus Burger365 – Chewbacca

Here’s another burger that I created for Star Wars Remix.  In hindsight, I should have used a Boca Burger patty to create “Chew-Boca”. Oh well…

Once again, make sure you check out Star Wars Remix every Tuesday and Thursday, as they reveal the latest creations. Submit your own piece as well! ([])

New to the site? I created 365 other pieces of burger artwork as well.
